Some famous faces were seen this morning outside the McMaster University building across Main St from Hamilton’s John Sopinka Courthouse.

Mark Ruffalo and Stanley Tucci were spotted hanging out together as crews shot scenes from the upcoming movie Spotlight. They are only shooting in the city today, but may be back in a few weeks.

The university building – a former courthouse – is being used as a courthouse in the film. It’s the true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered child molestation and a subsequent cover-up in the local Catholic diocese, a story that had international repercussions.

Rachel McAdams and Liev Schreiber also star, but no word on whether they are also in Hamilton.

Spotlight is expected to hit the big screen sometime next year.
