Ticats ready for Lions

The B.C Lions are right now are the wounded lions — missing quarterback Travis Lulay and running back Andrew Harris. Kevin Glenn will start at quarterback for the leos, and that’s not necessarily good news for the Ticats because Glenn has won his last 9 starts against his former team.

The Lions come to town with a 7-6 record, good for 4th place in the west. The Ticats are 5-7 and in the east, that’s good enough for first place. The Ticats, for the most part, have been playing good football, but they’re still a work in progress, and they know it.

Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros: “Obviously, we didn’t score the points we wanted to last week and we’ve lost some touchdowns on the field in previous weeks but I don’t think you’re ever too satisfied with something. Just try to be better at it and that’s what we’re doing so hopefully we can get some more points on the board for sure.”

Kick returner Brandon Banks: “We learned from last week. B.C.’s got a good defence. I also think we’ve gotta’ work on ourselves. We’re making our own mistakes. So, just making the plays that’s called and finish the drives. When we get in the money zone, just put the ball in the end zone instead of settling for field goals executing the plays

Lineman Justin Hickman: “We’re shutting down the run. A guy told me we’re number one against the run, Obviously, my second game coming in, hopefully I can help with that. But they’ve already been playing well. So hopefully, I can be another piece of the puzzle. When you can understand football, it makes your reaction time that much faster. So we’ve got some guys growing on the back end and some good players gonna’ come up.”
