Crash involving Police cruiser sends two to hospital

A crash in downtown Hamilton Saturday afternoon sent two people to hospital.

It happened at Main and Wellington. One of the vehicles involved was a police cruiser.

Witnesses say the cruiser had it’s lights on at the time.

The conditions of the two people taken to hospital are not yet known.

The collision was witnessed by a passenger in another car, Chantal.

“So the police car had sirens on, we heard the sirens so we stopped and then the sirens continued going and she also had her lights on and then she stopped at the pedestrian intersection and, looked both ways and then she continued on when it was safe. And the black car came up and hit her on the right side of her car.”

The intersection has since  re-opened to traffic.
