St Catharines stabbing sends man to hospital

One person’s been arrested, and Niagara Police are looking for another after a stabbing in St Catharines last night.

A detective investigating the stabbing says several people were fighting in an apartment near the former Delta Bingo hall on Church Street about 10:30 pm when one man was stabbed in the abdomen.

He had emergency surgery in St Catharines and his condition has been upgraded to stable. Investigators call the stabbing drug-related.

A knife, a taser and other items were found at the scene. Police have the identity of the second person they are looking to arrest.
