City Motor Hotel sign removed

A sign of Hamilton’s past has been removed.

The sign for Hamilton’s City Motor Hotel has been taken down. The hotel itself was demolished almost a year ago.

The City Motor Hotel had a reputation for drug deals, prostitution, and occasional shootings. The City of Hamilton expropriated the property, paying $1.9 million to compensate the owners and have it torn down.
