(Update)

No one was injured after an industrial fire broke out in Stoney Creek Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to Laurentide Kitchens and Bath on Brockley Drive just after nine o’clock. The fire broke out in a hopper — which is used to collect wood chips and sawdust– at the back of the building.

Peter Ivarone was an eyewitness: “I seen a big thick flame, black smoke coming out and I say to one of the guys ‘there is something going on in there’. He looked up and a big flame came out of that hopper.”

it took crews about four hours to put out the blaze. At this point there’s no damage estimate.
