Hamilton Cardinals’ Zack Ranta has undergone surgery after dislocating his ankle in the fourth inning Saturday, May 11th. The Cardinals were playing the Burlington Bandits at Nelson Park when he was hurt.

Hamiltons Manager, Matt Fortuna has issued a statement saying they hope he can make a full recovery, and that the injury doesn’t affect him in his day to day activities after he recovers.

Ranta is expected to be released from hospital at some point on Sunday, May 11th.
