3 injured in crash near McMaster

Three young men were hurt after the truck they were in was totalled when it struck a large tree in west Hamilton.

Police are investigating the speed of the vehicle and the possible involvement of alcohol following the collision on Mayfair Crescent around 2:00 on Tuesday morning.

The three victims are 18, 19 and 22 years old and were wearing seat belts. Paramedics found the driver unconscious with multiple injuries. One passenger has two broken legs, a broken foot and serious facial and head injuries. The front seat passenger had less serious injuries caused by a deployed air bag.

There is no word yet on any charges that may be laid.
