PCs accuse Liberals of dishonesty on deficit

Cabinet documents obtained by the Progressive Conservatives say the Liberals have been misleading Ontarians on the fiscal deficit.

The documents show a $24.7 billion deficit in 2010, or as the Tories call it, a fake number.

Both PC leader Tim Hudak and MPP Vic Fedeli say the Liberals aren’t being honest with taxpayers.

The PCs say the Liberals’ plan to balance the books by 2017 was “an aspirational goal.”

The Liberals’ 2014 budget will be released later this week.
