Fire guts Thorold diner

A popular neighbourhood diner in Thorold has been gutted by fire.

Just before midnight people at the Tim Hortons across the street from Dominic’s Diner noticed smoke billowing from the roof. The fire started in the prep area near the kitchen. It took firefighters less than an hour to put it out, but the interior has been destroyed.

The fire marshal has been called to investigate. Damage is pegged at $150,000.
