69-year-old man found dead in delivery truck in Highway 401 ditch

Ontario Provincial Police in Mississauga are investigating after a 69-year-old man was found dead in the driver’s seat of a delivery truck in the ditch of Highway 401.

Police were notified late Tuesday night of a delivery truck sitting in the westbound ditch of Highway 401, approaching Guelph Ln.

Officers discovered the single occupant of the truck slumped over the steering wheel without vital signs.

Halton region paramedics attempted life saving measures on the man and transported him to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating and police suspect a medical event could be responsible for the man’s death.
