67-year-old pedestrian struck by vehicle in St. Catharines

Niagara police say a 67-year-old man was taken to hospital Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in St. Catharines.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. in the area of Gale Crescent and Riordan Street, and cruisers were seen in the area for several hours afterwards.
Police say a 64-year-old man driving an orange Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was making an eastbound turn onto Riordan Street when it hit a 67-year-old pedestrian while he was attempting to cross the street.

Niagara EMS transported the pedestrian to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers charged the driver of the pickup truck with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
