5 more people arrested in ‘unsanctioned’ McMaster homecoming party

First Published:

Hamilton police have made five more arrests in connection with an “unsanctioned” McMaster homecoming party earlier this month.

Police say five men, including three 18-year-olds and two 20-year-olds, were arrested after video and images surfaced of a car being flipped over and street signs damaged at the gathering in Westdale on Oct. 2.

Investigators say two McMaster University students, a University of Waterloo student, a York University student and a Smithville, Ont resident all face a charge of mischief over $5,000.

The impromptu homecoming party attracted thousands of people to Dalewood and Westwood Avenues.

Last week, detectives arrested and charged a 19-year-old student from Wilfrid Laurier in connection with the vehicle damage.

Police say they are not looking for any other suspects.
