3 lanes of Burlington lift bridge to close for 7 months starting Monday

First Published:

Drivers can expect delays as a large portion of the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge is scheduled to close for nearly seven months starting next week.

Public Services and Procurement Canada says three of the four lanes will be closed for “major rehabilitation” from June 26 until Jan. 15, 2024.

During that time, only one lane will remain open for alternating traffic following signalers or traffic lights.

The bridge will remain open to cyclists and pedestrians, and marine traffic will not be affected.
