3 charged following fight at a Grimsby business: Niagara police

Three people have been charged after a fight broke out at a business in Grimsby on Sunday afternoon and left one man with serious injuries.
In a release issued Tuesday, Niagara police say they were called to a plaza parking lot on Main Street West near Mountain Street for reports of a disturbance in the area.
Officers arrived to find a 37-year-old man from Brantford with injuries that they say is “consistent with an edged weapon.”
The Brantford man was taken to an out-of-region hospital to be treated for serious injuries that are believed to be life altering.

Initial investigation has determined that the Brantford man damaged the exterior of a small business in the area.
When a man in his 70’s confronted him, the 37-year-old man struck the man “without provocation.”
Two men from the business intervened and this is when police say the victim was injured. All three men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Brantford man now faces charges of mischief under $5,000, assault and uttering death threats.

Both a 39-year-old man from St. Catharines and a 44-year-old man from Grimsby have been charged with aggravated assault.
On Sunday the St. Catharines and Grimsby men were leased from custody on form 10 undertakings with future court dates.
The Brantford man attended an audio bail hearing from the hospital on Tuesday after which he was orderly held in custody.
