22-year-old man seriously injured in east Hamilton shooting

Hamilton police are investigating after a 22-year-old man was seriously injured in what is believed to be a targeted shooting Friday night.

Officers say they responded to reports of a shooting at the parking lot located at 640 Queenston Rd. just before 9 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found the victim, a 22-year-old man from Hamilton, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Investigators say that witnesses reported a four-door black sedan with a spoiler on the rear fleeing the area westbound on Queenston Road.

Police believe this to have been a targeted attack and are reviewing surveillance video in an effort to identify those involved.
