$20M in gold, other valuables stolen in Toronto airport gold heist

Peel Regional Police say more than $20 million worth of gold and other valuable items were stolen from Toronto Pearson International Airport earlier this week.

The theft took place early Monday evening after a plane that arrived was unloaded and its cargo transported from the airport to a holding facility.

Police have not revealed any information about potential suspects.

They also wouldn’t say which airline shipped the cargo, where the gold was headed or where the plane came from.
