2 St. Catharines residents tied to human trafficking investigation: police

First Published:

Niagara police have arrested two individuals in connection with a human trafficking investigation that launched in August.

According to officials, the search for suspects began when police discovered the alleged trafficking of a woman over the age of 18 throughout the Toronto and Niagara Falls areas.

On Tuesday, Niagara police officers, alongside OPP and Hamilton police, conducted several search warrants in Toronto and Niagara.

A man and woman were subsequently arrested in St. Catharines.

Forty-seven-year-old Sascha El-Abiad, and 31-year-old Paisley Rose West McClymont are facing numerous charges in relation to the human trafficking case.

Police also say El-Abiad is a full patch member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

“Due to the nature of the investigation, detectives have reason to believe that there may be additional victims and are releasing a photo of both accused in the hope that more survivors or witnesses come forward,” Niagara police said in a release.

Anyone who may have more information is asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009548.
