Niagara police have arrested two teenage boys in relation to a stabbing in a St. Catharines mall on May 22.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the Pen Centre shortly before 6 p.m. after a 20-year-old man was found suffering from a stab wound.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene. He was later taken to the hospital for what police say is a minor non-life-threatening injury.

Investigators say the man was walking in the mall when he was confronted by two male suspects near the food court. After a brief conversation, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed the man.

Police say the two male suspects ran from scene, getting rid of the knife in the process. They left the mall in an unknown vehicle.

Officers have charged a 14-year-old boy from St. Catharines with assault with a weapon using a knife and failure to comply with sentence order.
