2 Niagara residents arrested after theft of trailer worth $15K

Niagara police arrested two people after a utility dump trailer worth $15,000 was stolen from a fenced commercial property on Oakdale Avenue near Hickory Street in St. Catharines.
Police say the theft took place between Thursday at 4 p.m. and Friday at 3:30 p.m. They say the owner of the trailer activated a hidden Apple AirTag tracker that was installed on it.
Investigators say the tracer was pinging on Thirty Road in West Lincoln. Police obtained a search warrant for the property where the trailer was believed to be stored.
Officers found the trailer and arrested 36-year-old Andrew Lee Wayne of West Lincoln. Wayne is facing charges for possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Wayne was held for a bail hearing on Sunday at a Hamilton courthouse where they were released from custody. They are scheduled to appear at a St. Catharines courthouse next Friday.
Graham was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to attend a St. Catharines courthouse on Oct. 13.
