2 injured in overnight shooting at Hamilton nightclub

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after two people were injured in a shooting at a Hamilton nightclub early Sunday morning.

Officers say they responded to a shooting in the area of King William Street and John Street North around 1:45 a.m. where they found two 24-year-old men with gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to hospital. One victim is in stable condition, while the other is in critical condition.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted, but there is no information on the suspects or vehicles involved at this time.

Police say there were many witnesses at the scene and they are being asked to come forward with any information.

Any residents, businesses, or anyone driving in the area to review surveillance or dashcams between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. for any suspicious activity.

A heavy police presence can be expected in the area as officers canvas for video and information.
