2 die in Norfolk County motor vehicle collision

Two people died in a motor vehicle collision in Norfolk County on Saturday morning.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. between a pickup truck and an SUV at Cockshutt Road and Concession 3 Townsend.

The OPP, Norfolk fire and paramedic services and Six Nations paramedic services arrived to assist.

The driver and passenger of the SUV suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The pickup driver suffered minor injuries and was assessed by paramedics and released.

Cockshutt Road was closed for the investigation between Concession 2 Townsend and Norfolk County Highway 19 East.

OPP West continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
