17-year-old charged with murder in Six Nations death investigation

A 17-year-old Hagersville resident has been charged with first-degree murder after a body was found on Six Nations of the Grand River early Wednesday afternoon.

Six Nations Police were called around 2 p.m. to a home on Mississauga Road in Ohsweken, where emergency crews found a body.

One person was then taken into custody.

In an update Thursday, investigators say a 17-year-old youth from Hagersville was charged with first-degree murder.

There are no details on the victim at this time.

Police say there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811.
