One man seriously injured in shooting at Hamilton’s Montgomery Park

A heavy police presence could be seen at Hamilton’s Montgomery Park after a shooting Monday night left one man with life-threatening injuries.
Hamilton police say they responded to the park around 8:30 p.m. after officers nearby heard gunshots and the sound of a man screaming coming from the area.
Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting in Montgomery Park in #HamOnt. A male has been transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. There will be a heavy police presence in the area.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition but police say he is now stable.

Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk says that as responding officers entered the park, they saw a man and woman fleeing the park.
These officers pursued the two individuals, arresting a 41-year-old man from Stoney Creek who was in possession of a firearm. Brian Krpan has been charged with attempted murder with a firearm and additional firearm-related offences.
Investigators have yet to find the woman who they believe to be a witness only and are asking for her to come forward.
She is described as being between the ages of 30 and 40 with light Black skin and was seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts.
