Wynne considers subways to Scarborough

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne calls it purely “coincidental” that her government is now considering a subway line to Scarborough.
Wynne made the comment following accusations by the opposition Tories that the governing Liberals are changing their position on subways because the riding is up for grabs in upcoming by-elections.
Wynne calls the allegations false, and said Monday, “The coincidence is we are in a by-election period, but the decision point has come at this same moment it is not about acquiescing because of a by-election. If that were the case, we would not have been talking about it since 2010.”
Transportation Minister Glenn Murray says the government is now open to the proposed subway extension after nixing the idea just two months ago.
