Students erect pro-Palestinian encampments at Canadian universities

The latest on the protests across many university campuses in North America. In the U.S., the head count on arrests has climbed, where a reported 2,100 people have been detained since April 18th.

The widespread clashes between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and law enforcement has drawn criticism from U.S. President Joe Biden.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau echoed a similar sentiment about rising encampments here in Canada.

He didn’t denounce any of the demonstrations, but he did call for trust between protestors, schools, and police to ensure that spaces remain safe for everyone.
