Police: man’s body found after fire in Thorold building

Niagara police are investigating after a man’s body was found following a fire in Thorold.

Officers received reports of a fire at a residential building near Front St. N and Albert St. E around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

The units were evacuated and fire crews were able to get the blaze under control.

Police say the body of a 55-year-old man was found inside one of the units.

Detectives are investigating the man’s death.

No other injuries were reported.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to investigate the fire.
