Police say the thieves entered homes when people were sleeping through unlocked exterior doors to residences and attached garages.
They stole personal items, including ID and credit cards. Detectives determined that some of the stolen credit cards were later used in the Hamilton area.
Police Constable Phil Gavin from the Niagara Regional Police Service says no one has reported any injuries though it is still concerning how suspects are entering people’s homes when they are asleep inside.
The break and enters occurred in the areas of:
- Olive Street and Princess Boulevard in Grimsby
- Lincoln Avenue, Northgate Crescent, and Frances Crescent in Beamsville
One resident who lives in the area says he feels horrible and as though his house has been invaded.
Police say it’s still early in the investigation and there are no details on either estimated damages or losses, yet.
