The coroner’s jury looking into the death of Guy Mitchell has finished deliberating.
The 38 year old mentally-challenged man from Ancaster drowned on April 29th, 2012 after falling into a cistern on the property where he lived.
During the inquest, jury members were told of unlivable conditions in the house. There were dirty clothes scattered throughout the home, and there was no heat, running water, or food.
An agency named Choices which was supposed to oversee Mitchell’s care gave the house a passing grade just two days before his death. The jury has also completed a list of recommendations to prevent a similar death.
