Children and youth services minister Laurel Broten says over 50,000 Ontario kids and their families will now have quicker and easier access to the right mental health supports, when and where they need them.
"I am pleased that our government's recent budget included new funding for child and youth mental health, funding that will grow to $93 million per year by 2013-14."
"Our goal is simple, to make it easier and faster for families to access services and by doing so create a more coordinated and responsive mental health services throughout the province."
The first three years of the strategy will focus on kids, where the government says 70 percent of mental health and addiction issues begin in childhood or adolescence.
