David Bowie exhibition at AGO

An exhibition is opening tomorrow at the Art Gallery of Ontario which gives a rare look into the history of one of the world’s most famous musicians, David Bowie. It started in London, but Toronto is the first stop on a world tour for the show titled “David Bowie Is”.
All items inside are from Bowie’s own archive, that includes actual costumes worn during performances, and hand written lyrics that only tell part of his story.
Bowie is constantly shaping and re-shaping his image, creating new characters, and pushing social norms.
“What he actually says is look inside yourself and try and find what you want to be, and be it.”
Visually there’s over three hundred items from his archive from his sketches to his costumes, but what would a David Bowie exhibit be without music?
Visitors are surrounded by his music in each room and through an audio guide that allows you to follow your own track.
One of the most parts about the audio aspect of the tour is that the earphones they give you sync to wherever you are in the building. That means visitors can feel free to take any direction they choose.
