First Published:

Live, half-hour newscasts at 6pm and 11pm to debut on Saturday, October 29

(Hamilton, Ontario) Channel Zero is pleased to announce that CHCH will return to providing live weekend news broadcasts this Fall. Beginning Saturday, October 29, live, half-hour broadcasts of the CHCH Evening News will air weekly on both Saturdays and Sundays at 6pm and 11pm.

“We’ve heard it loudly from our viewers as well as from our advertisers, and we’re proud that we can meet the request” said Mike Katrycz, Vice President, News, Channel Zero. “We’ve always known instinctively that getting our news coverage back to 7 days a week was the right next step, and we are very pleased to provide even more coverage for the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara areas that rely on us.”

“We are grateful for the viewer feedback, because it demonstrates the high expectations they have of us,” said Chris Fuoco, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Channel Zero. “We listened to our viewers when they told us they wanted Morning Live to start an hour earlier at 6am, and we continue to listen to feedback to better serve our community every weekday – and soon every weekend too.”

CHCH is the news leader for the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions and has the highest rated local news programs in each of the morning, early evening and late evening timeslots. With the return of weekend news broadcasts CHCH will produce more than 24 hours of original local news programming every week. CHCH news can be seen over the air, via cable and satellite, and live streamed or on demand at chch.com.
