Brantford police seek to identify pickpocket suspects who targeted older adults

First Published:

Police in Brantford are looking to identify two alleged pickpockets in connection to a series of incidents.

Over five days, four similar reports were made to police: a senior citizen who had been shopping for groceries had their wallet stolen.

The incidents began on April 11 and continued to occur until April 15.

Officers say that they began investigating the matter and were able to identify two men who they believe to be responsible for the thefts.

According to their report, the two men would target older people. While one distracted the senior citizen, the other would physically steal the victim’s wallet.

In each case, the two men arrived and left by foot.

Police add that they were successful in each instance, making off with credit cards and identifying documents.

Now, investigators are circulating their image in an effort to track them down.

The fist man is described as a white male with a slim build, short hair that could be buzzed and short scruffy facial hair. At the time, the man was wearing white sneakers, faded and ripped blue jeans, a white shirt, vintage green army style jacket and a light, bright baseball hat.

The second man is described as a white man with a muscular build and a scruffy short grey beard. He was wearing white running shoes, tight blue jeans with ripped knees, a light grey hoodie and a black beret hat with a beak at the front.

Anyone with identifying information on either of the men is asked to call investigators by dialling 519-756-7050.
